Johnathan Defau has been one of the Axemens most consistent forwards in 2012. The man they call Schmee has always been known for his aggressive style of play however this season he has worked hard on the technical aspects of his game. The hard work has certainly payed off as Defau was voted the Most Valuable Player against the Baltimore Blues.
Defau played 80 minutes at lock, having a hand in numerous tries and scoring one himself. Coach Mat Keeley was particularly impressed with Defau’s ability to find his front, gaining quick play the balls, enabling the Axemen forward pack to get on top of the blues defence. Lets hope Defau can carry his recent form into this weekends game at home against the Rhode Island Rebellion who are desperate for a win as they eye off a finals birth.
