Axemen Complete Successful Training Camp
The Jacksonville Axemen started off the season with one of the best training camps they’ve seen in recent years. Over 30 players turned up for three days of training sessions led by new Head Coach Ben Nicoll.
“I thought training camp was a really good start to our season,” says Nicoll, “I was very happy with my first impression on the guys fitness and commitment to the team. They have been training their butts off for about 6 weeks now and it has put us in a very good spot for the start of our campaign. We had a lot of talent at camp over the weekend and we were still missing about 4-5 quality players so it’s going to be a good problem to have when it’s time for selection for the first game.”
“I’d like to thank Steven “Meaty” Hill, Jonathan “Schmee” Defau, and Matt Thornton for getting the lads in shape for training camp. I think there are exciting times ahead for the season and a great buzz around the group. So stay tuned Axemen fans, we are gearing up for a great year.”
