Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League

Game Preview: Round 5

The Dr. Clayman Plastic Surgery Center Jacksonville Axemen are preparing to take on the Kill Cliff Atlanta Rhinos in Round 5 of the USARL Competition. The Rhinos travel to Jacksonville following their first win of the season against the Tampa Mayhem last weekend and are looking to keep their momentum going. This is the second meeting for the two teams, as the Axemen defeated the Rhinos in Atlanta during Round 3, but the game was extremely physical and Jacksonville is prepping for another tough match.

“If there is one team that has the ability to cause an upset this year I think its Atlanta,” says Axemen Coach Mat Keeley. “They are tough, athletic, and determined to win. It was a brutal encounter last time we played and given they notched up their first win on the weekend I expect this game to be no different.” There is a lot on the line for the Axemen who look to remain undefeated and secure a home game for the semi-final playoff on July 26th. Coach Keeley remains pleased with how the Axemen have performed so far this season, and is optimistic going into this Saturday’s game. “I’m really pleased with the vibe around the club, we are a team where everyone does their job so if we can continue to work well together this weekend it will go a long way to winning against Atlanta.”

You won’t want to miss the action! Gates open at Hodges Stadium at 4pm, Reserve Grade plays at 4:15, Axemen versus Rhinos game begins at 5pm.
