Round 4 Preview: Axemen vs. Slayers
The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen will travel to the capital city this weekend to take on the DC Slayers. With the Axemen currently sitting 2nd in the USARL standings, the team cannot afford another loss, which could potentially close the gap from Rhode Island in 3rd and DC in 4th. Jacksonville has been looking more like a championship worthy team after last weekend’s win over Boston, and are ready to play DC who have always been tough at their home field. Jacksonville will be making a few roster changes due to injury but are confident in the depth and quality of players on the Axemen squad. “The guys train hard every week and are ready when they are called up from reserve grade” says General Manager Drew Slover. “It’s a testament to the teamwork within the Axemen organization.” The game will be held at Duke Ellington Field, Washington DC, at 1:30pm Saturday June 22.
