Axemen Reserve Grade Competition Begins This Saturday:

The Firehouse Subs Southeastern Rugby League (SERL) Competition will kick off this weekend and provide some pre-game entertainment at 4pm before the Axemen take on Baltimore. The SERL acts as a minor league development system to further expand the sport of rugby league in the south east.  Players always have the opportunity to be called up to play for the Axemen at any time during the season, much like in Major League Baseball and their Minor League affiliates. This year’s SERL comp will consist of the Jacksonville Hatchets, Daytona Gearheads, and the newly added Tampa Inferno. This weekend’s matchup will be the two-time defending SERL champs the Daytona Gearheads taking on the Jacksonville Hatchets. The Axemen also welcome the Tampa Inferno to the SERL this year, and look forward to seeing what Tampa has to offer. The action will start when the gates open, 4pm at the UNF Soccer Field, next to Hodges Stadium.
